Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about LastWishCrypto and crypto inheritance planning

What is LastWishCrypto?+

LastWishCrypto is a client-side web application that helps you create a professional, printable PDF document containing your crypto inheritance instructions. You connect your wallets, select assets, allocate them to beneficiaries, and generate a PDF that guides your executor or family through your holdings. No accounts, no seed phrases stored, no persistent data.

How does LastWishCrypto work?+

LastWishCrypto works in six steps: (1) Connect your wallets via WalletConnect or manual entry. (2) Load assets automatically from each wallet. (3) Allocate assets to beneficiaries by percentage or amount. (4) Enter your personal details, executor information, and key instructions. (5) Select a pricing tier and pay (if applicable). (6) Generate and print your PDF. The entire process happens client-side in your browser.

Is LastWishCrypto secure? Does it store my seed phrases or private keys?+

LastWishCrypto never stores your seed phrases or private keys. The application is entirely client-side, meaning all sensitive data stays in your browser. We only record public wallet addresses, asset lists, and beneficiary allocation data that you choose to include. No data is sent to external servers during the PDF generation process.

Which blockchains and wallets are supported?+

LastWishCrypto supports Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, ApeChain, Solana, and Bitcoin. EVM chains connect via WalletConnect, Solana via wallet adapter, and Bitcoin via Xverse or manual address entry.

Can I include NFTs in my inheritance document?+

Yes, NFTs (ERC-721, ERC-1155, and Solana NFTs) are automatically detected when you load assets from a connected wallet. Each NFT is shown with its name, token ID, and thumbnail image. Because NFTs cannot be split, they must be allocated 100% to a single beneficiary.

What about Ethscriptions or other non-standard assets?+

Ethscriptions (digital artifacts stored on the Ethereum blockchain) are supported and appear as a separate asset category. Like NFTs, Ethscriptions cannot be split and must be allocated entirely to one beneficiary. Other non-standard tokens are included in the general asset list and can be allocated like any fungible token.

How much does LastWishCrypto cost?+

LastWishCrypto offers four tiers: Free (1 wallet, 2 beneficiaries), Standard ($42 one-time for 20 wallets and 10 beneficiaries), Premium ($69 for 40 wallets, 40 beneficiaries, priority support, and a live walk through), and Concierge ($499 which adds live setup help, document QA review, executor instructions sheet, annual refresh reminder, and priority support).

Is the document legally binding?+

LastWishCrypto generates an informational reference document, not a legally binding contract. It is designed to be used alongside a formal will, trust, or other estate planning documents prepared by a qualified attorney. We recommend consulting with an attorney to integrate your LastWishCrypto document into your broader estate plan.

What does the executor need to do with the PDF?+

The executor uses the PDF as a roadmap. It contains your wallet addresses, asset inventory, beneficiary allocations, and any access instructions you have written. The executor can verify holdings on-chain, contact your attorney if seed phrases are held in escrow, and follow your instructions to distribute assets to beneficiaries.

Can I update my document after I create it?+

Yes. You can return to the app at any time, reconnect your wallets, adjust allocations, and generate a new PDF. Premium and Concierge tier users receive annual document update support. For others, simply start a new session to regenerate your document with updated wallet data.

What happens to my data after I generate the PDF?+

All session data is stored locally in your browser. Once you close the browser tab or clear your local storage, the data is gone. LastWishCrypto does not maintain user accounts or store personal data on its servers. The only permanently recorded data is the on-chain payment transaction if you choose a paid tier.

Do I need technical knowledge to use LastWishCrypto?+

No. LastWishCrypto is designed for everyday crypto holders. The interface guides you through each step: connecting wallets, loading assets, adding beneficiaries, and generating your PDF. If you can use a modern web browser, you can use LastWishCrypto.

What if my beneficiaries do not know anything about crypto?+

This is precisely the problem LastWishCrypto solves. The PDF provides a clear, non-technical overview of your holdings and step-by-step instructions. You can include a plain-language letter of instruction explaining what crypto is, which wallets hold assets, and how your executor can liquidate or transfer them.

Can I store seed phrases in the LastWishCrypto document?+

We strongly recommend against storing seed phrases anywhere in your inheritance document. If someone finds the document, they have immediate access to your funds. Instead, store seed phrases separately (hardware wallet, metal backup, attorney vault) and describe only the location in your inheritance document. Refer to our Seed Phrase Estate Planning guide for detailed advice.

What currencies do you accept for payment?+

Payment for Standard, Premium, and Concierge tiers is accepted in ETH on Ethereum mainnet from your connected wallet. The exact payment address and current pricing are shown within the app before you confirm payment.

Can I use LastWishCrypto for business or institutional holdings?+

Yes. LastWishCrypto generates the same type of reference document regardless of the size of your holdings. For institutions, family offices, or multi-signature setups, the Premium or Concierge tier provides unlimited wallet and beneficiary support. Visit our For Professionals page for a dedicated workflow guide.

What if I forget where I saved my PDF?+

Your PDF is generated in your browser and downloaded to your device. We recommend saving multiple copies: one on your computer, one printed in a physical safe, and one shared with your executor or attorney. Since LastWishCrypto does not store your PDF, you will need to regenerate it from the app if you lose all copies.

Is there a refund policy?+

Because payment is handled on-chain and the document is generated immediately upon payment, refunds are generally not available. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents PDF generation, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

How is LastWishCrypto different from other crypto inheritance services?+

LastWishCrypto is a client-side, non-custodial tool that never stores your private keys or seed phrases. Unlike inheritance services that hold copies of your keys in escrow, LastWishCrypto only helps you produce a clear document that you control entirely. You decide who sees it, where it is stored, and how your executor accesses your assets.
